 Web design

Getting the right web designer is an important step to having a successful online presence. It's important to have a web designer you know you can work with - someone who can listen to your ideas and put an online "slant" on them, to ensure that your new website is professional, optimised for both visitors and search engines.

As part of the design process it's important to consider the following:

What do you want to achieve from having a website?

Is it to advertise yourself your organisation or your business online or is it a more complicated site, requiring perhaps a database driven and/or e-commerce solution?

How will your website fit in to your organisation ?

How will you handle emails, and enquiries possibly from customers you haven't traditionally dealt with previously - some of our customers now have international clients as a result of their website!

Does your designer offer a complete package as part of delivering your new website?

Does the package include site optimisation and promotion? This is important to make your web presence a success

Is it designed to your requirements or someone else's?

What about standards compliance? A good designer should be able to take your ideas make suggestions based on their experience, and build a compliant site. Standards compliance doesn't mean restricting your ideas!

Is your site designed to make updating easier (therefore cheaper) at a later date?

If you are looking at updating content regularly, a CMS site might be the best option, where you can update content in your own time at no cost. In any case you should always be given the option between accessing your site and update it, getting your designer to do the work for you.

What about all the technologies?

Flash, PHP, HTML, CSS, search engine optimisation and submission, digital photography, image and page optimisation, web hosting, domain name selection and purchasing - there is a lot to think about! A designer should understand all these technologies and be able to combine these with your requirements to build a site that adds value to you or your business.

Fortunately we can steer you through all these decisions and more, so that you can be sure you get a website that achieves what you want it to achieve. Packages

We offer two packages:

Static websites

Static websites are often called brochure websites, because that's exactly what they are. If you want a site to advertise your business or organisation online  - and have no need to regularly update your site, this is the option for you. When it comes to updating your site or adding new pages, we can do this for you. If you want to update your site irregularly this will be the cheapest option:

Content Management Websites

These allow you to update your content whenever you want to. They are more expensive up-front, because they take more time to set up, but once we hand the site over, you can update it whenever you want without further cost. If you plan to regularly update your website, then this will be the best option over the longer term. Of course if you still want us to do the updates for you, we can do this as well!

Design and hosting packages:

Both the above packages can be combined with our design and hosting option. if you have your website built or redeveloped by us, and also choose us to host your website, we will discount the build or redevelopment fee by 10%
